Roadshow in Goa to woo tourists to Odisha

Tourism movie director Manoranjan Pattnaik, who supervised the road show in Goa, said the response was impressive. “Several tour providers and hoteliers of Goa interacted with our delegates. They have assured us to promote Odisha tourism, ” Pattnaik said.

Stakeholders associated with the hospitality sector in Odisha said the state federal government should first develop facilities in the tourist destinations before inviting visitors, be it domestic or even foreigners. “Goa beach is one of the most beautifully maintained seashores in India. But the Puri beach is just the opposite. The federal government should take steps to clean and beautify the beach. The Puri beach lacks entertainment amenities, ” said Srimant Kumar Dash, president of India-Japan Friendship Centre, a voluntary organization working for advertising of tourism links in between India and Japan.

Jagmohan opens sound & light show at Somnath

SOMNATH: Union travel and leisure minister Jagmohan on Fri said tourism would be created in a way so that India’s wealthy cultural “patriotism” could be elevated.

Jagmohan, who inaugurated the first-ever sound and light show on the famous Somnath temple within Junagadh district, gave details of the elaborate plans of the central government to develop 33 hubs of cultural plus religious tourism all over the country, including several in Gujarat.

“The Centre also offers massive plans to develop a number of other “sub-hubs” of tourism within Gujarat like Dholavira, Lothal ruins, Dwarka and Bhalka Teerth, ” he said.

Talking about Somnath and his vision to convert it into a pulsating hub for tourists, Jagmohan said apart from sound and light show, the beach plus nearby areas would also be developed.

Madhya Pradesh to launch chopper services for tourists

BHOPAL: After braiding up with Ventura and launching intra-state charter air support with small planes, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation (MPTC) is planning to join fingers with Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited (PHHL) to kick off chopper service in the massive state.

“We have successfully launched air-connectivity between from Bhopal in order to Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Rewa and Khajuraho and now looking forward to tie up with PHHL to begin helicopter service, ” MPTC chairman Mohan Yadav said.
